I haven't been keeping note of my food nutrient intake, but I'm quite sure my sodium intake is not up to your suggested level. Never the less, I never eat any salt (sodium chloride) because if I did I would have lots of trouble; none of which I would get from eating sodium from plants. In fact; here we can find "Saltbush", and also, some succulent plants; all of which taste EXTREMEMLY salty. Some people even flavor lamb with Saltbush. In fact I have eaten very salty succulent leaves growing on a salt lake and I didn't have the adverse effects I would from even a small amount of crystalline salt. And by the way, years ago I used to add salt to food; either celery salt, Celtic or Himalayan Salt.
PS: It drives me mad that the "Health Food" section of the supermarkets are so heavily littered with "Sea Salt" as an ingredient as if that's supposed to be healthy!
